Project Details
Description
The District Grant Project “Nepal School Support Initiative – Bringing Hope to Disaster-Affected Children,” implemented by the Rotary Club of Kathmandu Height with support from local partners and international partners from RI District 5080 USA–Canada, is progressing satisfactorily during the reporting period up to January 2026. The project, covering Namobuddha Municipality in Kavrepalanchok District and Solududhkunda Municipality in Solukhumbu District, aims to support disaster-affected school children by providing essential educational materials, winter protection, sports equipment, and climate-resilient interventions to reduce school dropouts and promote student well-being. The project has entered the active implementation phase, with procurement of winter clothing, stationery, sports materials, and fruit tree saplings initiated and nearing completion. Coordination meetings have been successfully conducted with both concerned municipalities to finalize implementation and distribution plans, and beneficiary schools and students have been identified. Logistics planning and local coordination have been completed, and materials are expected to be ready for dispatch within one week. Distribution activities are scheduled to begin after school reopening following the winter vacation, with programs to be organized at school level in the presence of local authorities and stakeholders. No major challenges have been reported so far, and the project remains on track for timely and effective implementation.
