Project Details
Description
The Toilet Construction Project at Shree Janajagriti Basic School, implemented under District Grant RID 3292 by the Rotary Club of Kathmandu Height in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Kathmandu and Namobuddha Municipality, is progressing as planned. The project aims to construct gender-friendly toilet facilities along with a handwashing station to ensure a safe, hygienic, and dignified learning environment, particularly for girl students. During the reporting period up to January 2026, significant preparatory work has been completed. A detailed site visit and technical assessment were carried out, followed by consultations with the School Management Committee and Ward executives of Namobuddha Municipality Ward No. 2. Based on these discussions, the project design, scope of work, and implementation modality were finalized in coordination with school authorities and local stakeholders. Planning and coordination activities have now been completed, and the construction phase is scheduled to commence in the last week of January. Upcoming activities include mobilization of materials and labor, construction of toilets and septic systems, installation of handwashing facilities, hygiene awareness sessions for students and teachers, and continuous monitoring during construction. No major challenges have been identified at this stage, and the project remains on track to achieve its sanitation and hygiene objectives.
