Project Description

Rotary Club of Kathmandu Height successfully completed another phase of “Project Jyoti,” a vision screening initiative aimed at improving eye health and academic performance among school children. Conducted at Shivapuri School, the project provided basic eye screening services to 244 students, contributing toward the broader target of reaching more than 2,500 students with vision screening and corrective spectacles. The project is jointly led by Past President Rtn. Rajaram Joshi in collaboration with Rotary Club of Patan, Rotary Club of Nanaimo Daybreak, Rotaract Club of Kathmandu Mid-Town, Rotaract Club of Kathmandu Height, ADSoN, and The Rose International Fund for Children. A total of 26 volunteers, including support from Nepal Medical College, actively participated in the event. Volunteers received prior training from contact lens specialist Rtn. Dr. Chandra Lekha Tuladhar to ensure effective screening. The project addresses the challenge of undetected vision problems among children, helping students improve learning outcomes and confidence by identifying and correcting eyesight issues at an early stage.
